Claire Huang is a part-time doctor and graduate of the University of Glasgow. During her time as a medical student, Claire naturally developed a passion for helping others through channels other than solely healthcare. A foodie, Claire enjoys cooking for friends and family and has years of experience working in both restaurants and bakeries.

To raise money for a medical elective in India, Claire started Take A Bao; a pop up bao bar and fundraising platform. At the same time a partnership was formed with the Central & West Integration Network (CWIN). CWIN is a community organisation in Glasgow that are building meaningful social connection throughout Glasgow's many wonderful and vibrant local communities. Some of their main work involves supporting asylum seekers and refugees as they integrate into everyday life in the City of Glasgow. Since this partnership Claire is now a Member of the Board of Trustees for CWIN, giving back to the community in more ways than just whipping up tasty bao for us all to eat.

At its heart, Take A Bao is a way for friends (old and new) to get together, eat some good food, and support great causes. Keep an eye on upcoming events and come say hello! If you missed an event but still want to eat some delicious, comforting bao then get in touch and Claire will aim to arrange an order just for you! Individual orders help support this small business so that more fundraising events can take place in the future!

With all the love,

Take A Bao
